In a very tight contest our Sam was not victorious on this occassion.
The positives are Sam made this UK Finals over hundreds of entrants throughout the countries young engineers so to be in the top ten to be at the Final was an immense achievement that we at 4Matic are very proud of, his hardwork has set the standards for future and current apprentices with our company.
A big thanks to Shaun Wing from The Grimsby Institute for all his help and hardwork & encouragement that he has done with Sam.
Very well done Sam Smith

These pictures are from day one of Sam Smiths World Skills National Finals at the NEC today. Our MD is going to visit him tomorrow and pass on words of both encouragement and wisdom in order to try and give Sam another 10% of confidence.
Our local Institute of Grimsby where Sam attends weekly are there supporting Sam each day and his mentors should take pride in the great work that they do bringing on our next generation engineers, so thanks to the Institute and all involved.

This picture taken early on in 2017 was 3 of our current 6 apprentices working on World Skills Competition. Sam Smith our senior apprentice to the left of the picture made it through to the national finals at the NEC where today he has completed his first full day, he has tomorrow and part of Saturday and then judging will follow. Sam if successful will progress to the world finals of sheet metal which would be an incredible achievement for our Sam. Sam has always shown passion and determination to do his very best, this attitude has paid him off so far and as a company we wish Sam all the success for the next 2 days ahead. Well done Sam Smith from all at 4Matic ... See MoreSee Less
